It’s amazing how much Polly Brown sounds like Diana Ross. I discovered this song on one of those Have A Nice Day Rhino 70s compilations (of which I have them all… remember purchasing music? lol)

I agree, Guess I’m Dumb is the missing link between the Today album and Pet Sounds. It sounds like it could sit comfortably next to the Beach Boys’ Let Him Run Wild. Amazing track, amazing production, and amazing vocal by Glen. I have working tracks of this song somewhere…

I discovered My Little Town about 12 years after it first came out in 1975, in the late 80s, and it felt like a gift. I remember Hearts And Bones (1983) was supposed to be an S&G reunion album, but then Simon erased the Garfunkel contributions, causing their rift to deepen once again…

My favourite Spring song is Sweet Mountain. Such a darkly atmospheric song…

I’ve never heard either the Yoko Ono song (wow), and the amazing Cher track. I’ve always heard/read that Cher and Phil Spector worked on a project together, but I never knew what the song was called. It’s a great production. Cher used to sing back-up during Spector’s heyday in the 60s. I have a music magazine from about 12 years ago called RayGun (I think) where she discusses those times with “Phillip.”
