It’s time for another one of these posts. I’ve been planning to do this post since Sunday, but it was this tweet which made today’s refresher post imperative:
Man accused of killing gas station attendant said he thought she was casting a spell on him http://tinyurl.com/cw29vj (via @JimMacMillan)

There’s much more… like on Disinfo there’s the Grindhouse Tribute to Vincent Price and The Hand In Space. My favorite find this week though came across Metafilter as a Map of the Internet, featuring the top 333 sites and 111 individuals:
Incidentally, I ran across that on metafilter on the seventh, right after twittering about following 777 people and having 555 followers… not that there’s anything significant in all these numbers besides being divisible by thirtyseven.
Over the weekend, there was a protest on Wall Street:
Lefty emailed me after the event:
there are a bunch of photos on flickr…
these are the ones i took. Here’s a general search of flickr.
this is what I ran a post about it on my blog.
this is what i put up about it on nowpublic.
looks like the second day was quite a bit bigger, but i couldn’t go cause i had bought too much socialist literature the day before

Elsewhere in the world, it is the first time in 200 years that an American has been held prisoner by pirates. Or at least, that’s the way the Daily Mail sees things. Meanwhile, the BBC gets ready for bittorrent distribution and France rejects the 3-strikes anti-piracy law.
I can’t help but marvel at the strange ways our language twists, and the weight of all those utterances can be shifted around by a choice headline.
I’ll leave you with this PSA from Mojo Nixon:

Woah. Wonder who the individual at MeFi was that did that “333 drop”. And now I get the true meaning of the http://37signals.com site’s name.

Close your eyes, and hit play on that first video. What do you see when you immerse yourself what you’re hearing?
Horribly boring, isn’t it?
