I agree with Cory Doctorow – the tendency to turn a civil matter into a criminal one gives me the screaming heebies. The fact that this passed the House also gives me the heebs. The RIAA can’t win in the courts, so now it’s bribing Washington?
I really wish the big media companies would realize that they’re losing money because the rest of us aren’t limited to their crap anymore. I stopped going to theaters and listening to terrestrial radio about 10 years ago when I realized that major media outlets weren’t interested in informing or entertaining me – they just wanted my money. Screw ‘em.
Like Firesign Theater said, “Welcome to the future.”
