The Right Brain Society

Wes Unruh

Every so often I’ll run across something on video.google that goes beyond amateur techniques and becomes something profound, something that could really only exist in this new media landscape.
The Right Brain Society video, linked below, is precisely such a video.

I’ve searched somewhat unsuccessfully for more information on this group, although I did find a myspace account.
According to one of their blog posts:

That’s an idea of the video that accompanies our live performances.
One of our main goals/ideas behind The Right Brain Society is an attempt at the seamless integration of film with music, where the music complements the film and the film complements the music perfectly.

We don’t limit ourselves to music. The Right Brain Society is art? The Right Brain Society loves you. The Right Brain Society is crazy about you. The Right Brain Society will catch you if you fall.

There’s more too, here’s several shorter videos after the jump.

Rise and Fall

Get Happy

Duck and Cover

I love seeing this kind of repurposing of video, and am always on the lookout for more. And of course when I find it, you’ll see it posted here. And if you make this kind of work, please upload it to altertube.tv and let us know.

Hey,

I just found this awesome post about us.

I appreciate all the wonderful things you’ve said. As of the past few months Right Brain Society has turned into a solo act, but I am currently working on a whole new batch of songs and videos. Hopefully they will be up and available very soon.

Once again, thanks, and I will be sure to keep you posted.

Paul, The Right Brain Society
