The Adventures of Stranger Randy
While it may not reach the lofty heights of such comic creators such as Alan Moore and his ilk, The Adventures of Stranger Randy by John Crowley & Shane Becker made me laugh today, and that’s all that counts really, especially on such a shit day as this one.
Sure the art is closer to South Park than Jack Kirby (although the newer strips are more detailed, realistic and refined) but what could be more appropriate for a comic about a “pseudo-sexual” regularly depressed perpetually broke drug / alcohol abuser Vietnam / Iraq war vet and street hustler?
Dead beat dads, shitty beer, smoking, John Stossel, deflated artistic pretensions, Richard Grieco, herpes, fat ass roommates, pissing away the rent money … what’s not to love?

Yo! Good lookin out on the Randy comic. It’s boss. The Web is full of so much recycled garbage that its refreshing to see something that is truly homegrown.

I have been reading stranger randy for many years now, and I am currently sexually confused and chronically depressed. Ultimately, stranger randy has caused me to question what it means to be a ‘real man’, and I now have the constant desire to act out violently… although, I never have the courage to do so. Thanks Randy.
